FIRST
STEPS

Our Energy Audit Assessment focuses on the current energy systems installed, overall energy consumption and then presents our client with an energy savings model based on a CE-K500 installation. A typical energy audit of a commercial building will consist of the following steps:

1

ASSESSMENT OF CURRENT SYSTEM

During this phase, information will be collected on the current system in use by our client. These systems include current boilers, chillers, and pumps. Values for their age, replacement cost, and operating conditions will be collected to achieve a holistic view of the existing site equipment.

2

USE OF ACCURATE SCANNING TECHNOLOGY

This phase involves the use of a 3D scanner on site to capture a 3D model of the room, it's piping and routing configurations. This information is transferred into Solid Edge CAD software and used to evaluate the current condition of the site with focus on piping, room size, ambient room temperature, accessibility, and auxiliary components (pumps, valves, etc.).

3

P&ID COLLECTION

Using the current P&ID, assess the existing layout of the site and the suitability of the current pipe sizes, material, and routing. This will help with layout optimization and determining if there is potential for re-using existing components.

4

SITE DATA COLLECTION

To determine the average operating conditions of the site throughout the year and the unit cost of running the site’s system, on-site data collection may be required. During this stage, flow meters would be installed in strategic locations to accurately measure the required capacity. Equipment sizing, kilowattage, and heat load will be assessed in relation to the amount of savings achievable.

5

DETERMINING THE OPTIMAL SOLUTION

The assessment process shall also include significant consideration of repair or renewal decisions, the prediction of systems reliability and the associated cost of replacement.  Redundancy methodologies will also be evaluated to ensure that a single point failure does not have the capability to interrupt the system’s continuous operation.

Once the audit is complete, our client will be presented with a savings contract that presents the overall reduction in energy usage and reduced costs they can realize with the installation of Green Matter’s CE-K500 heat recovery system.

ASSESSMENT FORM

Our Energy Audit Assessment Form is a short but comprehensive series of questions we walk through with our clients to assist us in delivering an accurate assessment of the energy savings available through incorporating our CE-K500 heat recovery system into their facility.
